In 1992, Robert Berman created wool dreadlocks, glued them into a baseball cap, wore the cap out to a bar on Long Beach Island. That began Rasta Imposta! Robert met his wife, Tina, that same summer when she bought the first 12 dreadlock hats and sold them in her retail store, The Mod Hatter. The simple funny hat soon became a worldwide sensation. Robert made new styles of novelty hats and then expanded Rasta Imposta to include costumes to complete the looks.
